Mario Galla was discovered as a Model at a fast food outlet in Hamburg. Despite his leg orthosis (an artificial leg extension), he was booked by Designers and Labels such as Hugo Boss, Adidas or United Colors of Benetton and started an international Model career in London, Paris and Milan. In summer 2010 during the Fashion Week in Berlin the designer Michael Michalsky decided to let Mario run the catwalk in short pants, which caused a public sensation. Mario published his Biography “Mit einem Bein im Modelbusiness” together with the big hitter Lars Amend, who pre-published books such as („Bushido“, „Rock Your Life“ with Rudolf Schenker & Paulo Coelho) in September 2011.
Due to his unique life story and the existing interest in his character Mario still earns great media attention. He chose to use his popularity for a good cause. Besides his job as a model, Mario works on behalf of big health insurance funds to help children, who grew up within poor circumstances. This work includes workshops which are suppossed to help the children making the best out of their situation. Starting 2013 he was announced as an ambassador working against discrimination on behalf of the german government. Mario did his B.A. in Media and Information in Hamburg in order to build a second backbone for his future. He is also the Testimonial of the NGO Handicap International, an aid organisation working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Helping people with disabileties all over the world.
